I thought photographing Daddy Long-Legs would bore me to tears, but I'm
glad I stuck with it. I was able to get in real close and take some
fantastic shots. Found this guy in a bathroom under the sink.
This specimen looks to be a male, due to the large size of the pedipalps
(the 2 smaller appendages in front of his eyes). Pedipalps are
reproductive organs, and can be used as hands. Talk about multifunctional.
Keep this in mind when a spider asks to shake your hand, look him in the
eyes, and politely decline. |
