This wolf spider didn't budge at all while I was shooting. Well, it was freshly dead. No, I didn't kill it, found it inside the office at work, coworkers placed a cup over the spider, and left me a note to check it out. That's how I was able to get so close.

The other wolf you see is likely a female, and is carrying live spiderlings on her back.  The spiderlings will develop, and eventually will get off momma's back. And you thought raising kids was tough.

Common Name Wolf Spider
Order Araneida
Family Lycosidae
Genus/Species Lycosa spp.
